Homemade Teeth Whitening
Before the invention of teeth whiteners that could be used at home,
people used natural
ingredients in lieu of expensive dental visits. White teeth
were associated with healthy teeth, so the remedies that work
the best stuck around. Now many of these remedies can be found
in books or on the internet.
A home remedy
is used much like a commercial product. Because most products
sold to the general product are not chemically harmful, there
is not a great danger in using them; still, care must be taken
in the use of the product as well as the dispensing of the
ingredients. A good toothbrush is about the only tool you will
need, though some applications methods may not even require
that.
When you make
your own home whitener you will use common household products.
Some recipes call for baking soda and peroxide; others
incorporate salts, peppermint oil or lemon. Other exotic
ingredients such as prickly ash bark, Echinacea or golden seal
powder can be used as well. The complexity of the ingredients
is up to you and your comfort level with introducing products
in to your home, and mouth.
Daily use of
homemade whitening products is usually safer than commercially
branded products,
even toothpaste. You may want to make the batches small though,
to prevent spoilage. If you have a large family, a larger batch
is ok, but tries to use it up in about 3-4 days.
You can buy
small containers to use when you are traveling so you won’t be
without your home use product. Another good thing is if you
have a liquid, you can use it to make your breath fresh. Since
tarter forms right after you eat, and it causes discoloring of
the teeth, it is good to carry your mix with you. If you do
this, it is a good idea to make a label for it, just to make
sure you use the right product!
There are
plenty of reasons to make your own teeth whitener. The
following are just a few:
You may have
any number of reasons why you choose home made products, but
the most important is usually cost savings. When you save money
on every day products, the cost savings will add up. An average
store bought tooth whitener could cost as much as $50, while a
dental visit could be ten times that amount or more. Reducing
the amount of chemicals you use, especially in your mouth, can
improve your health as well.

choose to use a homemade teeth whitening
products it is a good idea to make sure you do not have any
allergies to your choice of products. Because there are so many

something unique, and you will have a great smile to prove that
